Buy groceries online, save time

BUSY mums are making the most of online grocery shopping services.

Coles' head of sales and marketing online, Julie Mathers, said the supermarket's online shopping option was proving popular among mothers with young children, busy workers and even businesses.

"Anyone who wants to save time and wants the convenience of having their shopping delivered to their front door will benefit from shopping online," Ms Mathers said.

Those who had never tried shopping online are urged to give it a go.

"If you haven't done it before we understand it can seem a little bit intimidating," she said.

But the process was extremely straightforward and hassle-free, she said.

"It's really simple. Customers can place their order the day before for delivery the next day," she said.

Online shoppers have access to a full range of products and can search for groceries either by aisle or through a search function.

"Things that are more difficult to find in store are actually easier to find online because you can just type what you're looking for into the search box," she said.

"We also find many customers find online shopping helps when they are on a budget because you can look at how much you're spending as you go along.

With all online shopping orders packed from a store level and packed by personal shoppers, the produce delivered to customers is always fresh.

"Everything is done from a store level not from a warehouse," Ms Mathers said

Coles Personal Shoppers do the legwork for the customer, walking the aisles and hand selecting the order.

Personal shoppers are trained on how to pick the best produce possible, she said.

"A lot of people are nervous initially but once they try it they realise the produce is fresh and very good. Place a small order and see if you like it or not," she said.
