Key wicket a boon for tourists

CAPTAIN Michael Clarke claimed the key wicket of Shivnarine Chanderpaul on the last ball of day four to put Australia in a strong position heading into today's final day of the third and final Test against West Indies at Windsor Park, Dominica.

Australia had the hosts struggling at 3-45, but the redoubtable Chanderpaul and Darren Bravo stood firm for the hosts.

They joined for a 110-run partnership before Shane Watson had Bravo caught behind for 45 by Matthew Wade.

The home side was still in good shape at that stage but then Clarke struck.

He claimed Chanderpaul LBW on referral for 69 with the final delivery which left the Windies on 5-173 at stumps, still trailing by 197 runs.

Earlier, the Australians were dismissed about 30 minutes before lunch on day four for 259, with the lower-order sticking around to add another important 59 runs leaving the hosts with a chase of 370 to win.
