A MINI series about a famous war hero who honed his skills shooting kangaroos is Proserpine is currently in post production.
The series 'The Legend of Billy Sing' is based on the 2008 book by John Hamilton called Gallipoli Sniper: The life of Billy Sing.
Billy Sing was born in Clermont to a Chinese born father and was a member of the Proserpine Rifle Club and also spent time as a Kangaroo shooter in Proserpine.
After signing up to the army two months after the break out of World War I, Sing served as dismounted infantry at Gallipoli and has been referred to as the most successful sniper from any country during the First World War with the figure of more than 200 kills.
The mini-series was filmed in Victoria in 2008 and in the early part of this year and is currently in post production.
