THE rumour mill grinds afresh today about a visit to the city by American rock legends Kiss, together with heavy metal band Motley Crue, early next year.

The Daily Mercury broke the news yesterday that there was heavy speculation about Kiss heading to town to perform at Virgin Australia Stadium early next year.

A visit to the country had been confirmed on the David Letterman show by Kiss frontman Paul Stanley, who said they would tour South Africa with Motley Crue and then both bands were heading to Australia after that.

An announcement yesterday afternoon in South Australia has added further fuel to the Kiss/Crue fire.

The Clipsal 500 V8 Supercars entertainment line-up was announced, and heading the program was, you guessed it, Kiss and Motley Crue.

Though several sources close to the promoter have been contacted, they would not confirm the rumours.

However, they said to expect an announcement next week.

Other acts named in the V8 Supercars line-up, but on different nights, included Hilltop Hoods, Drapht, Illy and Pez, The Angels and Ian Moss. According to online music site fasterlouder.com.au, Kiss and Motley Crue have been touring together across the US, Mexico and Canada since July.

Kiss, regarded as one of the most influential rock bands of all time, released their latest album Monster last month.

The four members of Motley Crue, all originals, claim to be the original bad boys of rock. Hits include Shout at the Devil, Wildside and Dr Feelgood.
