Elected to Queensland Tourism Industry Council

WHITSUNDAY business woman and Save Our Foreshore campaigner Suzette Pelt has been elected to the board of Queensland's peak tourism organisation - Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC).

Ms Pelt, who is the director of Queensland Yacht Charters, will join a range of key tourism industry members on the board including Dreamworld and Whitewaterworld CEO Stephen Gregg.

QTIC CEO, Daniel Gschwind, said the board members combined extensive experience in tourism and business and represented the diversity of the industry.

"We are very fortunate that these senior industry representatives are prepared to invest their time and knowledge into working for the future of the tourism industry in Queensland," he said.

"The board's priority will be to continue to work across all State Government agencies to ensure private and public sector efforts are well-coordinated to achieve the full potential that tourism offers for the economy and the communities of Queensland."

Ms Pelt has a background of 30 years in international and Australian tourism. She was on the board for Tourism Whitsundays for six years and is one of Queensland's tourism visitor safety ambassadors.
