Amazon’s finished rolling out discounts for Prime members to every Whole Foods in the nation. If you want to get in on the money-saving action, here’s what you need to know.
Amazon’s trying to make it as easy as possible to get your discounts when you go shopping, but you’ll still need to do just a little bit of leg work to get it set up. You have two options, depending on how you prefer to get your discounts. You can either install the Whole Foods app on your phone and scan a barcode every time you check out, or you can link your phone number to your Amazon account and give the cashier that every time you check out.
If you want to go download the app and scan a code when you check out, follow these steps:
Download and install Whole Foods app for Android or iOS.
Sign into your Amazon account in the app.
Open the app any time you check out to find the QR code you need to scan.
This QR code changes every 30 seconds or so, much like a two-factor authentication code. This is to prevent you from taking a screenshot and sharing it around.
If you don’t want to install the app, you can use your phone number to verify your identity. To do so, follow these steps:
Sign into your Amazon account and head to this page.
Click “Update settings,” next to “Use your mobile number.”
Ensure the number you see is correct, or enter it if you need to.
Enable the toggle that reads “Use my mobile number at checkout.”
Now, when you check out, you’ll be able to ask the cashier to look up your phone number. Unlike the QR code option, there doesn’t seem to be any method of confirming that you’re the one using your Prime account to get deals.
