15-year-old killed in collision

A 15-YEAR-OLD girl has died following a two-vehicle traffic crash south of Bowen on Friday afternoon.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said emergency crews were called to the Bruce Highway about 10km south of Bowen at 12.22pm.

On arrival, emergency services found the girl trapped in a sedan.

The girl was freed at 12.50pm but was unable to be revived.

A 45-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man, a 10-year-old girl and an eight-year-old girl were taken to Bowen Hospital.

The eight-year-old girl was then flown to Mackay Base Hospital with two broken legs, and his since been released.

All other victims escaped injury.
