15-year-old's "critical head injuries" after school fight
A TEENAGER has been rushed to hospital with "critical head injuries" after being put in a headlock then knocked unconscious at a Queensland high school.
Child Protection Investigation Unit detectives believe at 12.55pm on Wednesday, the boy had his neck restrained in a head lock position before losing consciousness and striking his head on the ground.
The boy sustained a fractured skull and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition. He has since undergone surgery and is now recovering in a stable condition.
After being alerted to the matter this morning, police have begun an investigation into the incident and inquiries are ongoing.
