31 families left and a week to go

A TOTAL of 94 families have been put up for adoption so far this Christmas in the Whitsunday Times Adopt-a-family Christmas campaign.

Of these 94, 63 have already been adopted but 31 families are still left waiting to be adopted- and time is running out.

Whitsunday Crisis and Counselling Service Jill Harland is a strong believer in the Adopt-a-family campaign and said it was important for the region to adopt the remaining families as soon as possible.

“It has been very well supported over the years, it's brilliant,” she said.

“The clients appreciate it and so do we.”

To adopt a family is simple.

Choose one from the list, make up a hamper of non-perishable goods, attach the number of your family on your hamper and drop it into the appropriate community organisation by no later than December 9.

For more information on how you or your business can adopt a family, contact Mandy Patterson at the Whitsunday Times on 4940 2103.
