Second fatality after Ravenshoe cafe explosion

UPDATE:

ANOTHER victim of the Ravenshoe cafe explosion has died in hospital overnight. 

82-year-old from Silver Valley, Margaret Clark, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and was in a critical condition. 

She was pronounced dead at around 9pm on Sunday night. 

Twenty people were taken to hospital when a ute crashed into a gas bottle at a cafe last Tuesday.

Mother of two and cafe manager, Nicole Nyholt, died on Friday.

Support services, including counselling, are continuing to be offered to those affected by the incident at the Ravenshoe Community Centre at 3 Bolton Street, Ravenshoe.

SUNDAY 6:10 PM: Doctors still fighting to save life of cafe blast survivor

DOCTORS are fighting to save the life of another victim of last week's cafe blast in far north Queensland.

A victim injured when a car slammed in The Serves You Right Cafe in Ravenshoe was placed on the critical list at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital on Saturday.

A hospital spokesperson said the unidentified patient was no longer stable.

Six women aged 20, 43, 51, 59, 75 and 82 and four men aged 48, 56, 59 and 69 are among the victims.

Eight are in intensive care and two are stable.

Twenty people were injured when the ute crashed into a gas bottle at the cafe on Tuesday.

Cafe manager, Nicole Nyholt, died on Friday.

The 37-year-old had two children.

The ute's driver, 60-year-old Brian Scutt, suffered a broken back and burns to most of his body. - APN NEWSDESK
