Finals time for Whitsunday junior Eagles

AUSSIE RULES: All three junior Sea Eagles teams will begin their Mackay AFL finals campaigns this weekend after qualifying for the post-season.

The under-17s are straight through to the preliminary final on September 5, facing either the Swans or Saints, who play this weekend.

Whitsunday's 17s warmed-up for the finals with a 92-54 loss to the Saints on Saturday in Mackay.

Rhys Fuhrmann, Hudson McGregor and Mathew Jenkins each kicked two goals on the day, while Sam Cornish, Jacob Healey and Mitchell Healey each chimed in with one.

Although they lost, the team was undermanned and sustained several key injuries during the match.

Elsewhere, the under-15s must win to keep their season alive, facing a date with the Eastern Swans in an elimination final at Magpies Sports Park. After finishing the season as minor premiers, the under-13s play Sarina at Rogers Oval on Saturday morning.

The game starts at 8.15am.
