A donation to help Eco Barge

THE Rotary Club of Airlie Beach Inc held its meeting at Eco Barge HQ on Monday this week with representatives from each level of government in attendance.

Founding chair of Eco Barge Clean Seas Inc Libby Edge was presented with a $500 donation by Federal Member for Dawson George Christensen and State Member for Whitsunday Jason Costigan.

Ms Edge said she was thrilled to have been selected. "The money will go straight towards feeding at caring for the turtles," she said.

The donations were part of the club's MyWhitsunday Local Phone and Business guide Beneficiary program where advertisers in community pages can nominate a charity or community organisation to receive the proceeds of their advertisement.

Both George and Jason paid for advertisements in the current issue of the guide which was published in November 2015. Ms Edge brought members and guests up to date on the work of the Eco Barge and the turtle hospital.
