A new addition to the Prossie nursing home
NANCY Bellert knows exactly what Proserpine Nursing Home needs - a new bed - and now that's exactly what they'll get.
The nursing home held it's 'In it 2 win it' fundraiser on Sunday and through it raised enough funds to make their purchase.
Lifestyle Coordinator for the home, Ms Bellert said about $2600 was raised on the day.
"We're very happy we raised as much money as we did and it will go towards something we really need," she said.
"It's something that will really help the residents."
Ms Bellert said after great deal of hard work, they were pleased with the end result.
"It was a big lead up so it's great that it was such a success," she said.
"And the residents love this sort of thing so they were very excited."
Jeni Borrelini shared her singing voice on the day, providing entertainment for all to enjoy. Ms Borrelini also lent a helping hand by continually drawing raffle tickets over the course of the day, purchased by those who attended.
Five major prizes were up for grabs; a half day cruise with Cruise Whitsundays, a family pass with Prime Time Adventures on the 'Duck', a quilt made and donated by Carolyn Considine, a $50 voucher from Advanced Windscreen Proserpine and an original oil painting.
Not only were there a number of big prizes, there were also plenty of smaller ones.
Ms Bellert said very few went home empty handed. "Lots of people won prizes and everyone had so much fun," she said.
