It's getting hot in here

A SLEW of world temperature records were broken last month, which was the hottest March recorded in the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's 137 years of records.

Among other records, the 1.22-degree increase on the 20th-century average set a new mark for the most above average temperature recorded in any month - beating the mark set in February.

"Overall, the nine highest monthly temperature departures in the record have all occurred in the past nine months," the NOAA said in a statement.
