A taste of Paris

THE Proserpine Entertainment Centre will be offering an entirely unique experience this Sunday when the Paris Underground Cabaret arrives.

The classic French cabaret and variety show changes things up with a production that brings together a diverse range of performers, magicians, dancers, singers, circus and burlesque artists.

Co-creator of the show Richard Vegas said Whitsunday audiences would "witness the delights of a magic spectacular and French burlesque, cabaret and variety show".

Vegas said audiences would enjoy singers, dancers, aerial artists and illusionists who had the ability to seduce and intoxicate with a Moulin Rouge-style feast of magic, song, dance, burlesque, comedy, circus and cabaret.

Paris Underground Cabaret has performed to packed houses throughout Victoria and New South Wales with a show that has been described by critics as "sexy, alluring, atmospheric, accomplished, supremely entertaining vaudeville…" by Stage Whispers

The Cabaret is currently touring around Caloundra, Toowoomba, Ipswich, Townsville and Mackay with support from The Playing Queensland Fund and Art Tour, which are initiatives of the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.

The show will feature various acts including the unusual magic of Julia Madotti, circus artist and aerial angel Hannah Trott, the skill of tap-dance king Eden Read, the risque repartee of songstress and chanteuse Aurora Kurth, burlesque artiste and showgirl Kelly Ann Doll, magician extraordinaire Richard Vegas, and the host of it all MC maestro Monsieur Marveaux, who also performs as an actor and illusionist.

It's a line-up that won't be back to Proserpine anytime soon so don't miss this opportunity.
