Motorbike cop killed in crash

A POLICE officer escorting a wide load was killed when his motorcycle and a semi-trailer collided near Mt Larcom this morning.

Sergeant Dan Stiller of Oxley District Traffic Branch was killed when the Service motorcycle he was riding collided with the  truck on the Bruce Highway about 15km south of Mount Larcom at 7am.

Sergeant Stiller had been escorting a wide load at the time of the crash.

Commissioner Bob Atkinson said Sergeant Stiller was a valued member of the Queensland Police Service and his sudden death would be a tragic loss.

“Sergeant Stiller was a dedicated traffic officer committed to the safety and security of all Queenslanders.

“On behalf of the Queensland Police Service I convey my deepest sympathies to the family of Sergeant Stiller during this difficult time.”
