A STORM with winds so powerful it flipped trampolines and knocked down trees struck Toowoomba and the Darling Downs yesterday afternoon.
The tempest was strong but brief and left houses without power in its wake.
Photographers around the region were quick to chronicle the event.
Melissa Heironymus posted a photo of her back yard in Westbrook.
A trampoline had been picked up and flipped by the storm's powerful winds.
"This just landed in our yard," she said.
It also brought down trees.
Tegan Oke photographed damage left by the storm in Glenvale.
The Bureau of Meteorology recorded 5.8mm of rain yesterday.
The aftermath of the storm also brought cold conditions, with the mercury plunging to 7.5 degrees overnight.
The apparent temperature was even colder at 3.9 degrees at 5am today.
There is fine weather predicted for most of this week, with rain set to return on Sunday and Monday.
