All ages to walk Vinnies catwalk next weekend

ONCE a year scouts are dispatched to scour the Proserpine Vinnies for treasure.

Fashionable treasure to be worn by models at a combined fund raiser with the Catholic Women's League to be held at St Catherine's Catholic College this Saturday.

Jane Muller and the team were hard at work selecting garments this week for what is the most important fund raising event of the year.

Denise Sala of Proserpine Vinnies said in the wake of Cyclone Debbie it was never more important to secure funds for the needy in the Proserpine community.

Ms Sala said her 11 and six-year-old will be modelling this year and the oldest model is aged in their 60s.

At the Tom Gard Centre at the school pre-loved clothing will be for sale and a $8 entry fee will be charged.

The cost of a cent sale which include a very good afternoon tea will also raise money for the charity.

Extra garment will also be for sale at St Catherine's.

Ms Muller said "there will be lots of opportunities to pick up a stunning bargain".

This year there will be a mini performance of Grease the musical by St Cath's high school students.

Proserpine Vinnies continues to provide low cost clothing and support in the form of food and bus tickets to the financially disadvantaged of the town.
