Am I the only 30-year-old who hasn't been to the drive-in?

AM I the only 30-year-old who hasn't been to the drive-in movies?

I didn't realise just how much support there was for the popular outdoor movie experience.

I have only ever driven past years after they've closed down up north, but heard so many fond memories from my parents and friends who have been to the drive-in.

YOUR MEMORIES: Bring back the drive-in movies

Mostly that first kiss and drinking for the first time in the back of the car as teenagers - you know all the rebellious stuff any 30-year-old could relate to their parents getting up to in the 'good old days'.

I was stoked when I saw we even have a Bring Back the Drive In Fraser Coast Facebook group where supporters can rally.

I think it is great to see so much support.

Would you like to see the old drive-in theatre come alive again?

We had an overwhelming response online after sharing a story about what remains of the old drive-in here on the Fraser Coast.

While I would love the thought of someone bringing the business back to life - I wonder if people of the Fraser Coast would actually utilise it?

I mean surely with the rising price of electricity it wouldn't be viable to be able to run the drive-in at the cheap price of $6-$8 a movie would it?

I could be wrong.

It could be a thriving business that is perfect for our stunning climate here on the Coast.

I certainly would love to experience the drive-in.
