AMY Clough was on top of the world yesterday after being treated to a surprise meeting with her idol on the Channel 9 show Mornings.

The inspirational 22-year-old, who has been battling Hodgkins Lymphoma for six years, thought she was on the show to talk about her journey, but was overwhelmed by a surprise visit from Delta Goodrem.

The determined Amy, of Wurtulla, has been given only months to live. But she is not giving up so easily and told Sonia Kruger and David Campbell she was feeling the healthiest she had ever been.

"I'm keen to prove them wrong," she said.

Amy described Goodrem, who also battled Hodgkins Lymphoma, as an inspiration and said she found strength within the lyrics of Goodrem's hit songs.

"The lyrics . .. she really captured my thoughts, the same thoughts, the same feelings and emotions. I really drew strength from that," she said.

Particular inspiration was found within Goodrem's Possessionless, which was penned after the singer lost her hair during chemotherapy.

After the on-air meeting the singer and Amy spent an hour chatting and sharing experiences.
