Anniversary tour stops in Prossie
YOUNG talent is set to take the Proserpine Entertainment by storm this Saturday night.
To celebrate their 50th anniversary the Queensland Youth Orchestra are touring and Proserpine is included on their itinerary.
A band of 38 members, the QYO are experienced and highly talented youths, with their performance sure to be one to remember.
The QYO will perform classics such as Rossini's Overture to Cinderella, Beethoven's Symphony No.4, Lloyd-Webber's Think of Me from Phantom of the Opera and many more.
Experienced and passionate soprano Anna Stephens, is doubtless set to deliver a performance no-one will forget.
Ms Stephens performs as a soloist with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra and Brisbane base Underground Opera Company, as well as being a lead soprano with Canberra's Opera by Candlelight in Albert Hall.
Conducting the orchestra will be Sergei Korschmin, who has been with the QYO since 2003.
Mr Korschmin has performed across the world including locations such as Moscow, Tambov, Vladimir, Novgorod, and in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and more.
Mr Korschmin is also the conductor of Queensland Youth Orchestra 2 and has been guest conductor with the Queensland Youth Symphony and Western Australian Youth Orchestra.
Cost to see these talented young musicians at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre on Saturday night is a $3 per person donation to the McGrath Foundation.
