Arts of Paradise shine at Hamo Race Week

HAMILTON Island's qualia resort last night played host to a delicious dining experience - Art in Paradise.

Organised in collaboration with the Gallery Of Modern Art, GOMA Restaurant executive chef Josue Lopez was inspired by the gallery's contemporary collection.

Attended by The Mentalist star Simon Baker, Sarah Snook of The Dressmaker, LA-based producer Bruna Papandrea, producer Imogen Banks, Sunrise weather presenter James Tobin, LA-based musician Emma Louise and daughter of the late Bob Oatley, Nicky Oatley, diners enjoyed four themed courses.

First up was fish and chips inspired by Blackwater, followed by reef fish themed on Netsuke, wagyu beef based on Fire of the Year and finally tropical coastline with the theme Sweetmelt.

Adding to the atmosphere, the table was adorned with strip lighting that changed colour as each course was served.

Ms Louise provided the sound track for the evening, serenading the crowd after having flown in especially for the event.
