Aspiring DJs fight it out

WATCH DJs battle it out in their heat of the Do You Even DJ? North Queensland DJ Competition at Mama Africa Bar and Niteclub on Friday.

The night will begin with Sugarlips playing a vinyl set before the competition gets started.

Guest DJ A-Tonez, from Sydney, will show us how it's done and then Delaney from Mackay will close the night.

Mama Africa Bar and Niteclub media manager Safia Alami said it was guaranteed to be a jammed-pack night of talent.

"The rumble just got real," she said.

Doors open at 6.30pm and close at midnight.

DJ Delaney is one of three professional DJs who will judge the competition.

"It's great to see North Queensland moving forward in the Australian dance scene with producers from Cairns right through to Rockhampton and to add this, a DJ comp in Airlie Beach at Mama Africa,'' he said.

"We find this will boost the morale and support of the club scene and help find the young talent that this tropical place has to offer.

"With all the guidance and support from our judging panel Atonz, SugarLips and myself, this event is sure to be inspirational and motivational for the young guys fresh on the scene.

"Big ups to Atonz for making the time to come up and share with North Queensland his talent and wise words. Big thank you to Mama Africa Nightclub, Mile High and Th3rd Dimension for putting this competition together."
