Attacker sent to jail

A MAN who attacked a Proserpine security guard using a home made knuckle duster earlier this year will spend at least two and a half years in prison.

Aaron Michael Brain, 29, was sentenced to six and half years prison to be released after two and a half years, after pleading guilty to 10 charges in the Mackay District Court last week.

Included in the 10 charges that brain faced last Wednesday was one charge of attempted robbery and one charge of causing grievous bodily harm.

On June 8 this year, Brain attacked security guard Peter John Clackson using a home made knuckle duster during an attempted break in at the Key Security Group office in Proserpine.

Brain also attacked Whitsunday police officers Joshua John Mason and Shane Paul Roberts and an elderly woman, Violet Rose Chauntler, after the attempted robbery before being arrested in the early hours of June 9 in Proserpine following a police door knock.
