Avengers are in town

HOT on the heels of the Avengers, Captain America: Civil War comes to the Proserpine Entertainment Centre this week.

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity.

After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team.

The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Heroes or vigilantes is the question raised in this highly inventive, full-throttle adventure in which questions of ethics and loyalties are raised as Captain America and the superheroes find themselves divided and in conflict.

An agile mind is required to keep up with the never-ending plot twists and leaps and it is refreshing to find genuine originality and flair under Anthony and Joe Russo's adept direction.

The film plays like a continuation of Avengers: Age of Ultron with the various superheroes featured. Dizzying action and a plot with gargantuan scale explode onto the screen in a 148 minute hyperactive superhero action fest.
