Back-to-back tipping comp wins

FOR the second straight year, Chris Bunyoung is heading to the NRL grand final.

The Fairbairn Bakery owner won this year's Whitsunday Times rugby league tipping competition, edging out four other business owners.

Chris finished the year with a total of 122, eight clear of Whitsunday Windscreens' Joel Norris (114).

Cavalier Homes' Michael Brady rounded out the podium with a total of 109 while Ideal Plumbing's Darren Hinton (108) and Amalgamated Pest Control's Mark O'Connor (105) rounded out final standings.

Chris, who also won last year's competition, said he was looking forward to attending this year's NRL decider and the Star Epsom Day at Royal Randwick on Saturday, October 3.

"It's fantastic," he said.

"It was a good trip last year so I'm very happy about it... it's good to win."

Chris led the competition for most of the year but remained tight lipped on his keys to success.

"There's no real secret," he said.

"I watch the games each week and look at previous clashes and make a decision from that. I try and follow my head and not my heart."

Chris said he hoped the grand final would either be an all-Queensland affair between his beloved Cowboys and the Broncos or a duel between the Roosters and North Queensland. "A Cowboys and Broncos game would be unreal," he said.

"I follow the Cowboys so I'd be happy to see that."
