Baseball bat pulled in argument

THERE was a scary situation in Collinsville yesterday with a man allegedly threatening a woman with a baseball bat.

It is alleged the incident occurred yesterday in Collinsville with the 25-year-old man walking from Fomoma St to Garrick St while yelling and swearing.

A woman in a Garrick St home then engaged with the man in an argument and then he started behaving aggressively while holding a baseball bat. Residents alerted police in a nearby street and they found him underneath a vacant home where he was arrested.

He has been charged with going armed so as to cause fear and will appear in Bowen Magistrates Court on June 14.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
