Basketball takes off at PCYC

BASKETBALL

NUMBERS are continuing to rise for social basketball at the Whitsunday PCYC, with organisers hopeful that more players join in on Wednesday nights.

Anyone interested in playing should head down to the PCYC on Wednesday nights from 6.30pm for a social game.

A total of 11 players turned up for a social game last week, which was a big improvement on the four players that turned up in the program's opening week.

The increase in player numbers meant a proper five on five game was able to be played and there was some fast and furious basketball down both ends of the floor. There was a healthy mix of experienced and first time players which allowed for a very even game where newcomers were under no pressure and could learn more about the game and its different rules.

The program costs $5 for PCYC members and $10 for non-members, with anyone welcome to go along and shoot a few hoops in a fun and friendly environment.

Anyone interested in playing social basketball on Wednesday nights should phone the PCYC on 4948 1144 or show up on the night.
