Be there or be square

IT'S time to bust out the paisley shirts, flared trousers, spandex tops and outrageously high platform shoes - it's tourism and business awards time. With ticket purchases closing tomorrow at midnight, now is the time to reserve your spot at the 2015 Whitsunday Tourism and Business Awards.

Disco '70s Glam is the theme, and awarding excellence is the reason that hundreds of tourism industry professionals will kick up their heels and celebrate at The Palm House next Saturday night, October 24. The annual awards night is hosted by Whitsundays Marketing and Development Limited (WMDL), and puts entrants through a stringent judging process encompassing all areas of their business.

WMDL's Rebecca Nicol said tickets to the popular event were selling fast.

"If you haven't already bought your tickets, you'll need to get in quick, as word has gotten out about the great night," Ms Nicol said.

Tickets are $130pp from http://www.whitsundaytickets.com .au, and include fork and finger food all night, complimentary drinks for the first couple of hours (cash bar following the awards), and free transfers to and from the event, including after-party transfers into Airlie Beach.
