POLICE are hoping to reunite a gold ring with its owner.

The ring found its way to police after being dropped in a charity bin, possibly by the person who stole it.

Toowoomba police are seeking community assistance to identify the owner of the ring that contains the inscription "Love Kevin 10.7.75".

The ring was handed to police as found property late last year after being located in a charity bin in the Kearneys Spring area.

Some other items from this bin were identified as being stolen and police suspect that this ring may have been stolen also.

Police are hopeful that the ring may be returned to the owner in time for the 40th anniversary.
