Big act hits stage
AIRLIE Beach Festival of Music organiser Gavin 'Butto' Butlin is celebrating a major win with the signing of 10cc this week.
Mr Butlin said the world-renowned act, who ruled the pop world from the 1970s, would bring the house down in a final main stage set on the last day of the 2015 festival in November.
He said after hearing the band would be in Australia at the right time of year "we started the negotiations and made it happen".
"They were doing the capital cities - Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane - and now Airlie Beach, so that's huge," he said. "A band of that stature has never been to Airlie Beach before."
Mr Butlin said 10cc would join the likes of Tony Childs, The Black Sorrows, Richard Clapton, the Bondi Cigars, Wendy Mathews and Sandi Thom for this year's three-and-a-half day event from November 5-8.
Early bird tickets costing $220 for a full festival pass are available for just three more weeks before the price rises to $245 in mid-May.
