Bistro opening after cyclone

THE Reef Gateway Bistro has re-opened after being closed since Cyclone Ului hit the Whitsundays in March.

The Reef Gateway in Cannonvale is celebrating with a re-opening party on Sunday.

There will be a XXXX give-away and nibblies. Local band, Cactus will play in the car park from 1pm.

Hotel Manager Craig Bradley said he was pleased to have the hotel fully operational again after having the bistro closed for such a long time.

He thanked the regular patrons who had continued to support the business while part of the hotel was closed.

The bistro has now been refurbished and there will be a new menu introduced on Tuesday.

The hotel has also employed a new chef, Michael Bertram, who will start on Monday.

Originally from South Australia, he has more than 15 years experience in the industry.
