MORE than 150 riders battled it out in the 2010 North Queensland Zone BMX Championships in Proserpine over the weekend. With riders from Moranbah, Sarina, Mackay, Walkerston and Proserpine and aged from under 5-years-old to over 50-years-old, all riders hit the hard, fast track taking home their own share of Proserpine dirt. The qualifying event saw competitors fighting for their spots in the Dynamite (10 to 12 years), Zone (13 to 16 years) and State (over 14 years) squads. Proserpine had a strong contingent in the championships with 51 riders competing in preparation for the Queensland State Titles to be held in Mackay in September along with the first round of BMX Australia Probikx and Champbikx.
