Boats boost sail entries in Race Week

ENTRIES for Airlie Beach Race Week close tomorrow and already 127 craft have entered as of this week.

A host of boats will be competing when racing gets under way on August 11, including a boost in sports boat numbers that have helped surpass last year's 104 starters.

Spread across IRC, performance, cruising, multihull, sports boats and trailable yacht divisions, some big guns are on their way to Airlie Beach, among them 13 of the best in trailable boats, in town for their national title and increasing numbers in the sports boat fleet.

Carrying names like All Guns Blazin, Wicked and Checkmate the competition is sure to be furious in the trailable yacht field that is representing Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales.

Entries close at 24:00 hours on Friday August 5. Entry and Notice of Race can be completed online at the Race Week website.
