Bowen boats to thrill in a high-octane ride
BACK in the top of the Whitsundays for the fourth year in a row, the Australian Offshore Superboat Championships are assured to deliver high-octane on-water action.
Each year the Bowen Superboats event shines a spotlight on Edgecumbe Bay, the Bowen Marina and foreshore area and is the largest on-water event in Bowen.
Bring a camp chair or blanket to the Bowen foreshore and enjoy the free community event.
A total of 10 boats will compete during round two of the offshore championships before heading south to Coffs Harbour for round three.
The supercat extreme and supercat outboard classes will reach speeds in excess of 200kmh.
The teams bring with them a cast of hundreds, from pit crews to family and friends and loyal supporters, all with a need for speed and all keen to soak up the best the region has to offer.
The 2017 Adani Bowen Offshore Superboat Championship event is hosted by Bowen Tourism & Business and proudly supported by Tourism Whitsundays and the Whitsunday Regional Council.
