Boy air-lifted from Long Island

A 16-MONTH-OLD boy presenting croup like symptoms was flown from Happy Bay on Long Island to Mackay Base Hospital by CQ Rescue yesterday morning.

The CQ Rescue helicopter arrived on the island at 5.54am.

An intensive care paramedic from the helicopter stabilised the child before he and his father were flown to Mackay where they arrived at about 7am.
