Brahmans ready to do better in 2013
NEARLY 40 players turned up to the Proserpine Brahmans first training session of the year on Tuesday night with a welcome mix of returning and new players sure to help the club in 2013.
Head coach Cameron McPherson came on board with the club midway through last season and said he is looking forward to his first full season in the top job.
"I used to play for the club and last year an opportunity arose to get involved with the Brahmans again so I took it. We had a very promising turnout on Tuesday and it's important we get off to a good start this year," he said.
"Our main focus is on preparing well for the opening round and getting stuck into our pre-season training."
After a sluggish start to the 2012 season the Brahmans A Grade side finished strongly making it to week two of the finals. All three senior teams are looking to improve on last year's results.
Anybody is welcome to come down to Les Stagg Oval for training on Tuesday and Friday nights at 6pm with players needed for the under-18, reserves, A Grade and women's team.
The first game of the 2013 season is on March 23 and anyone wishing to get involved should contact Mick Molony on 0407 451 956 or Cameron McPherson on 0418 679 756.
