Breakfast back on the menu for Rotary Club

THE Rotary Club of Airlie Beach's 'President's Breakfast' made a triumphant return on Sunday after a hiatus of over ten years.

The reintroduction of the President's Breakfast was the idea of Rotary member Peter Jennings, who also played the role of host, opening his home to Rotarians and partners for the social occasion.

"I wanted to reintroduce the President's Breakfast to create a social camaraderie within the club," Mr Jennings said.

"I think it just gives the club a life outside their regular meetings."

Mr Jennings said Presedent's Breakfasts were previously held every year "and they were always very happy events".

"[But] for some unknown reason they stopped doing them and now they've started again," he said.

Sunday's President's Breakfast took the place of the weekly meeting, which is usually held on Monday evenings.

Rotary member Merewyn Wright said the morning was enjoyable and she hoped it would once again become an annual event.

"It was a different type of atmosphere, more relaxed," she said.
