Man accused of indecently assaulting health worker

A MAN who allegedly went to Ipswich hospital brandishing a knife will spend the next three weeks in police custody.

North Ipswich man Henry Edward Bewert, 52 faced Ipswich Magistrates court this morning after being charged on Sunday following the incident.

Police will allege Mr Bewert went to the hospital about 5.30pm and sexually assaulted a female staff member while holding the knife.

Another staff member then allegedly confronted Mr Bewert, telling him several times to drop the weapon before police arrived and arrested him.

Mr Bewert has been charged with going armed to cause fear, sexual assault whilst armed and contravention of a court order.

He has been remanded in custody and is due back in court on August 15.
