Man rushed to hospital after jet ski crash at local dam

UPDATE 1PM: A MAN has been rushed to Mackay Base Hospital following a jet-ski accident at Kinchant Dam. 

Reports indicate two jet skis collided at the dam resulting in one man suffering back injuries. 

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services say they assisted Queensland Ambulance get the man out of the water, onto a spinal board and into an ambulance. 

"Paramedics have transported a male patients to Mackay Hospital with a back injury following a jet ski incident at Kinchant Dam," QAS said. 

The scene has now been cleared. 

INITIAL: EMERGENCY services are rushing to an incident at Kinchant Dam, believed to be a watercraft crash.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue Services spokesman said two crews were attending, including a swiftwater rescue crew but were still unsure of what had occurred.
