WHITSUNDAY GOLF: Twenty-six players contested the Airlie Panel and Paint Monthly Medal on Sunday at the Proserpine Golf Club.

The players defied the wind and cold to play a hotly contested event.

Brendon Meharry won the men's A-grade title with 67 from Geoff Harrison (68).

The best gross score went to Rod Wecker, while Ross Richardson blasted the longest drive.

Brad Hammond was the best in B-grade, winning in a countback from Mark McDougall (73).

David Hoy and Kevin Mills won the prizes for best gross score and longest drive respectively.

Penny Wardroper (73) was the ladies' winner on the day, finishing clear of Anna Winterbourn (75) while Jacqui Wall won the gross prize.

Robyn Mills won the longest drive titles for A and B-grade respectively.
