Bridget to give it her best shot at Girlfriend Model Search
ALL Bridget Smyth wanted to do was build up her confidence before heading off to high school. She thought modelling would be the perfect way to do just that.
Six months on, Bridget has taken to modelling like a duck to water and is preparing to enter her first model search.
The 12-year-old Rockhampton high school student will fly to Brisbane later this month to take part in the 2016 Girlfriend Priceline model search.
Bridget will brave a series of question-and-answer interviews at Westfield, Chermside in front of some of the industry's best talent scouts, including CHIC management.
Bridgett decided to enter in the competition after her modelling coach Louisa Bradley suggested she take part.
"We thought it would just be a fun idea and would build up my confidence," Bridget said.
"All my friends see the photos and they think it's pretty cool."
While Bridget isn't one hundred percent sure what would be asked of her during the competition, she was still excited to give it a go.
"I'm quite nervous but excited as well," she said.
"I would just like to give it my best go and I hope I get somewhere in it.
"I just want to see how far I can get."
At first she felt a bit weird being put in front of the camera but adjusted to it pretty quickly.
"We do quite a lot of both runway and photography, but probably more photography.
"I prefer the modelling for the camera than the modelling for the runway."
Model Search winner will receive:
- A two-year contract with CHIC Management.
- A five-night trip to NY or London to meet with NEXT Model Management Worldwide.
- An exclusive appearance in two fashion shoots for Girlfriend magazine.
- A $1000 prize pack from Priceline Pharmacy.
- $5000 cash
