Bright future ahead for Bundy's greyhounds
THE Bundaberg Grand Prix (550m) attracted some handy greyhounds to Thabeban Park, but when it mattered the Chris Gear-trained Alarm Bells pulled off a mighty run.
The lids opened on the boxes and Alarm Bells bolted clear of pre-race favourite Ultra Blue, and thanks to a smart run on the rail she was extending her lead when she passed the finish.

Not only did the win take her past the $10,000 mark in earnings, but gave Gear added confidence before he took his star bitch to Brisbane for her next challenge.
Gear planned on taking Alarm Bells to Albion Park for Thursday night meetings where first place gets $5000, far more than even marque meetings at Thabeban Park.
He said he was excited to see what Alarm Bells was capable of in Brisbane, her ability to jump out of the boxes well, and pull away at longer distances, were part of the reason he wanted to race on the big stage.
The Grand Prix win followed up the win the Christmas Cup (550m) and second in the Young Guns (460m) earlier this year.
Alarm Bells' next big challenge on her home track will be the Oaks (550m) in August, and she will be hard to stop.
