Council worker caught pulling illegal stunt

A P-PLATE driver in a Brisbane City Council marked ute has been caught doing an illegal U-turn in treacherous wet conditions which forced another vehicle to stop and reverse.

The potentially dangerous turn occurred at a set of traffic lights on the corner of Fairfield Rd and Kadumba St, Yeronga on Tuesday.

The P-Plate driver not only attempted to complete an illegal u-turn but he never made it on the first attempt and had to stop and reverse in the path of oncoming traffic.

Local Jay Allen was on his way home and approaching a green light when he was forced to stop and reverse to allow the ute to complete the illegal manoeuvre.

The incident was captured on his Garmin dashcam.

"What really surprised me even more than his poor driving … as I hit the horn on the way past, I got given the finger and a mouthful of swearing," Mr Allen said.

The BCC has been contacted for comment.
