HOME-town hero Andy Murray showed he was over the back injury that forced him to miss the French Open by beating defending champion Marin Cilic 5-7 7-5 6-3 in the final of the Aegon Championship in London.

It was the Scot's third victory in the tournament in the past five years, and the 27th of his career.

Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova beat Croatian teenager Donna Vekic 7-6 6-4 to claim the women's title, while Aussie pair Casey Dellacqua and Ash Barty downed Cara Black and Marina Erakovic 7-5 6-4 in the doubles final.
