Two car collision closes Bruce Hwy for almost two hours

UPDATE 3.20pm:   The Bruce Hwy has reopened after a two cars collided closed the road about 2pm.  

Senior Constable Tim Farran of the Whitsunday Police said a car turning right onto the Bruce Hwy failed to give way at the intersection.

"He has collided with a south bound motorist on the Bruce Hwy," he said.

 "The people travelling on the highway have all been admitted (to Proserpine Hospital) as a precaution and the driver has also gone down there a precaution also."  

Snr Const Farran said investigations into the cause of the crash will continue.

INITIAL:    THE Bruce Highway is currently closed at the intersection of Gregory-Cannon Valley Road due to a multi-vehicle crash.

Emergency services are on the scene.
