Logan's Run event needs sponsors

WHITSUNDAY mother Lisa Christofersen is looking for sponsors for her major fundraiser - the Logan's Run Gala Charity Dinner.

The event will be held on Daydream Island on Sunday, September 16, with tickets already on sale at whitsundaytickets.com.au.

Renowned Australian singer Wendy Matthews will perform on the night and has waved her $25,000 fee for the event as well as jumping on board as an official ambassador.

Ms Christofersen said this was a huge accolade.

Tickets cost $195 per person and include transfers with Cruise Whitsundays, a glass of bubbly on arrival and a three course dinner and a chance to meet some of the ever popular, clown doctors.

Businesses can also show their support by purchasing a table for the night.

An auction will also feature on the night run by Whitsunday real estate agent Reg Gillan and include a 16 night trip to Canada staying at Radisson Resorts, signed NRL Cowboy and Titans jerseys, a signed V8 helmet, sculpture, chocolate and much more.

"We are hoping to raise between $50-$60,000," Ms Christofersen said.

Funds raised will be donated to three charities that include the Childhood Cancer Support, Childhood Cancer Research at the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane and the Humour Foundation. Logan's Run bracelets are also on sale at Paya boutique at Shingley Beach, with barbecues and movie nights also being held to help raise funds for the charities.

Ms Christofersen launched Logan's Run in memory of her son Logan Wells who lost his battle with childhood cancer Rhabdomyosarcoma in December 2010.
