KINDERGARTEN teacher Gloria Demartini celebrated 30 years of teaching with students and parents over morning tea on Tuesday.
Mrs Demartini, or Mrs Tini as she is better known, has guided a number of Whitsunday kids in their early learning and even keeps track of them as they grow up and move on.
K and C Whitsunday Community Kindergarten director Kathy Gottschalk said the kindy wanted to recognise Mrs Tini for her love of kids, love of the kindy and love of the community.
“You are truly inspiring,” she said.
“We feel blessed that you are here and we just feel really grateful and lucky.
“Thank you for being an amazing person.”
And when Mrs Tini got a little bit emotional before her speech, young Tate Butler helped her out with some encouragement yelling out, ‘Mrs Tini, congratulations'.
“Children are the most wonderful things,” Mrs Tini replied.
“They are all so loving and they give so much and I think that is what makes our job so worthwhile.
“It is the people you work with that makes this job so great.
“I couldn't have wished for a better job.”
The tiny students all lined up after the official ceremony to have their photo taken with Mrs Tini and many parents stopped in for a chat too.
