Rob Taylor is the new Chief Executive Officer of PRD Nationwide Whitsunday.

He has worked for PRD for nine years and has been the Sales Manager for the past 18 months.

Mr Taylor has now bought a share in the business from Principal Christie Leet who will become the Project Marketing Manager.

Mr Taylor said he had joined the business with no experience after spending time travelling and had since learnt a lot about sales.

“It is now time to extend to other areas,” he said.

“We plan to grow the business, not just locally. We will be looking at the bigger picture in terms of projects for north Queensland.

Mr Leet has been in the real estate industry in the Whitsundays for 22 years and first became a part-owner of PRD in 1997. He has owned the entire business since 2000.

Mr Leet welcomed Mr Taylor to the new role this week and said he was confident Rob could add significant value to the business.

He said he was also looking forward to his new role as there was a huge opportunity and a responsibility to clean up the current projects here in the Whitsundays.

“There's also a lot of distressed stock that needs to go.

More development won't happen until after that,” he said.

Mr Leet said the construction industry had been the biggest industry in recent years but that had changed in the last year and needed to get back on track for the future of the economy.
