Man arrested on 51 charges

A 25-YEAR-OLD Toowoomba man will appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today after he was arrested on 51 charges yesterday.

About 3pm yesterday, a man attempted to flee from police at the Wilsonton Shopping Centre.

A short foot chase followed during which a 74-year-old man was knocked over and suffered injuries to his face.

Some of the charges the man is facing include 19 counts of burglary, 14 counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, five counts of entering a premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of serious assault, one count of attempted robbery and one count of stalking.

The charges related to a number of incidents that have occurred in the Toowoomba region since September.
